 David Cameron re opens local shop after floods in Witney.

Beautiful Creases Ironing, dry cleaning and laundry business in West End, Witney; has just been re opened by David Cameron.

The new Business, which opened just 2 weeks before the recent floods has been officially re opened by local MP and Conservative leader David Cameron.

Owner of the business, Chris Clinkard said

“We were only mildly affected by the floods compared to some of our neighbours, and were able to continue to operate shortly after the floods. But being a new business, the floods did have an impact”.

The business offers a quality Ironing, Dry cleaning, personal laundry collection-delivery and drop in service from the new shop in West End Witney.

Chris Clinkard also said;

“We have spotted a gap in the market for the local family and business people who are to short on time to worry about getting their Ironing, domestic laundry and dry cleaning done. Why spend your leisure time on domestic chores when they can be done for you, with a minimum of fuss they can be delivered and collected from home or work.”

MR Cameron asked Chris Clinkard what he thought of the response of the council after the floods and Chris said that he was pleased by the response of the local council in collecting rapidly all items that had been damaged by the floods.

David Cameron also said:

“On visiting affected areas across West Oxfordshire, I have been struck by the incredible response people have made to the floods, and in the West End and Bridge Street area of Witney, it is no different. There is a great spirit of determination, grit and compassion that has seen friends and neighbours helping each other (and also complete strangers) to overcome all the problems that they face.

 As the floods disperse, there is no doubt that difficulties lie ahead.  Local businesses, as well as people’s homes, have been affected.  But the response from the District and County Councils, together with organisations such as the Federation of Small Businesses in helping the recovering has been impressive.  We now need to check ditches and watercourses and take action to minimise any future problems.  I will of course help in anyway I can – so please use me and contact my office (Tel: 020 7219 3475)”.

Business is alive and well in the West End of Witney so drop in so to book a home /office collection of Ironing, Dry Cleaning or personal laundry call the company head office on 01865 300777

The British may have more enthusiasm than ever for timesaving gadgets and gizmos, but new research  reveals that we´re still spending more than a whole week every year on washing and ironing - chores that rank among the most unpopular around the house according to the Office for National Statistics.

According to the July 2006 Time Use Survey by the Office for National Statistics, the average person spends over three hours per day on housework, of which over 1/2 an hour is devoted to washing and ironing, excluding the washing time spent by machines doing the task. Over the course of one year, this equates to no less than 194 hours spent washing and ironing: or to put it another way, eight days per year that could be spent on leisure activities or holidays.

Over the course of 50 long years of housework, this is equivalent to 400 days of non-stop washing and ironing - more than one year and one month in the average lifetime!

This wouldn´t be a problem if it were the nation´s favourite pastime, but according to the Office for National Statistics, washing and ironing clothes is the least popular activity among both sexes aged 16 and over, with around half of both men and women who do this activity saying they dislike it and 36% of women and 17% of men saying they enjoy it.

In a further blow, equality´s been hung out to dry: two in five men do not do the ironing and a similar proportion do not do any laundry, while the proportion of women who do not do these tasks is fewer than one in 12.

Its obvious to all concerned that its time wasted.So if you would like to know how Beautiful Creases can help you  with your Dry Cleaning,Home laundry, and ironing tasks then call and book a collection.Chris Clinkard from the beautiful Group said “That our ironing service based at our shop at 11West End in Witney has seen a massive increase in customers taking advantage of our delivery and collection service during 2007”
